love it, very helpful! Lots in there I’ve not seen before! query – when I retweet I can’t seem to add my own comments on the original tweet. Is this right? I often see retweets where someone’s written something else…or I think I do. Perhaps I don’t, seeing as I can’t seem to do it myself!
are you using twitter.com? Their retweets are web style retweets which just reproduces the person’s tweet in your timeline – inc their avatar. IF you want to the other style and you’re using twitter.com then you’ll need to write RT @username then cut and paste the tweet. Alternatively most twitter clients like hootsuite will automatically do that all for you.
Did any of that make sense at all? I think I might need to write a blog post on it as people ask that a lot and it’s hard to explain without screengrabs… xxx
Ah, yes – it does make sense! Good to know, good to know. Thanks!
(although a blog post about it is probably a good idea…)
Or you can “quote tweet” (option for that in Twitter app) and add a comment.
Hi Pooky – really useful. Thanks.
One other I’ve seen quite a lot – JW: just wondering.

Dear Pooky,
You are one of the very few people that needs to be knighted for your excellent work and fantastic twits. you are highly regarded to me in the twitter-sphere.
Thank you! Possibly the best blog comment ever. Glad you’re enjoying the blog. Do let me know if there’s anything in particular you’d like to a post on.

Wrote a guide for a client, and had to include a link to this Twitter definition bible… both for it’s hilarity and thoroughness.
